Behaviour Support

IOE can work with you and other relevant services, support people and medical practitioners, to create and implement a suitable individualised behaviour support plan. All behaviour support planning is based on positive behaviour framework guidelines.

Behaviour support empowers people with disability and their families. It implements strategies for the person to learn coping skills in a way that best suits them, reducing the frustrations, anxiety and communication issues they may experience in every day life.

Behaviour support limits the need for restrictive intervention and maximises their capacity to engage in all aspects of life.

If the person you care for needs support to address behaviours of concern that prevent them from fully participating in daily life, ensure behaviour support is included in your NDIS plan. It should include assessment, plan development, staff training and review.

Behaviour support is funded under Capacity Building in your NDIS plan.
