Support Coordinator

Permanent full-time role based in Ferntree Gully with some local travel

What we are looking for

Personal Qualities

  1. Previous experience in a support coordination role.
  2. A can do attitude with a passionate  belief that all people with a disability have something to offer another.
  3. A builder – sees the end goal and can design and implement.
  4. Genuinely curious, thinks outside the square.
  5. Perfect team player.
  6. An ideas person – someone who is thinking ‘what next?’

Skill Set

  1. Experienced in working with people with disabilities and coordination with a passion to match. 
  2. Sound knowledge base of disabilities and families.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Can design and implement individuals support structures and choices.
  5. Experience in working and engaging with families from culturally diverse backgrounds would be highly regarded.

Prospective candidates will need to undergo a series of safety screening checks before being appointed to any position at IOE. Our recruitment procedures reflect our commitment to the safety of the people we support. Safety screening includes:

  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • A Working with Children Check

In addition to the safety screening, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of currency for: first aid certification – Provide First Aid HLTAID012 and undertake the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

Interchange Outer East regularly advertises employment opportunities for casual support workers to work with children and young adults with disabilities on a 1:1 basis or within group programs. If you are passionate about working with people and a firm belief in equality for all, we would love you to work with us.

Attendance at a recruitment information session is compulsory for anyone wishing to apply for these positions and is the only way an application for support work can be lodged.
