Behaviour Support Coordinator

Part time: 22.5 hrs per week.  10 month maternity leave position.

Interchange Outer East works to assist people with disabilities and their families to live the life they want by promoting choice, creating opportunity and building healthy communities.

The Behaviour Support Coordinator role is responsible for overseeing the implementation of positive behaviour support across the agency; developing the behaviour support plans for individuals and their families in line with relevant legislation and NDIS requirements.

Applicants should have:

  • A sound understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, Behaviour Support Plans, restrictive practices and strategies to minimise the use of these practices.
  • A strong commitment to the human rights of people with a disability
  • Proven ability to work closely with families, colleagues, community groups and other service providers.
  • Ability to support families/individuals/support workers to understand a behaviour support plan and assist with overseeing the implementation of the plan.
  • Ability to conduct group training as required
  • An understanding of the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills and a proven ability to work in a positive manner in a team environment.

Plan Management Administration Officer

Part time: 19 hrs per week  Salary: $31.18 / hour Generous salary sacrifice package available.

For over 35 years Interchange Outer East (IOE) has been delivering programs and services that support not only the person with a disability but every family member. We currently have a part time vacancy for a Plan Management Administration Officers within our dedicated finance team.

The position of Plan Management Administration Officer will undertake a variety of tasks associated with the administration of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for the participants of IOE. Hours may be worked over three days – Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday.

Applicants should have:

  • A high level of communication skills with a commitment to learning new skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and web-based platforms and a sound knowledge and experience of administrative practices, procedures and processes
  • An understanding of accounting and audit processes and an ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in an active team environment
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently with minimum supervision

Support Coordinator

12 month maternity leave position. 38 hours per week.  $36.37 p/h. Generous salary package available.

As a Support Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting and supporting families/individuals to understand their NDIS plan, providing service options and ensuring implementation of their NDIS plan.

Applicants must have:

  • A strong commitment to the rights of people with a disability.
  • Proven ability to work closely with families, community groups and other service providers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • An understanding of the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the ability to support families/individuals to understand and implement their NDIS plan.
  • Ability to support families/individuals to create individual budgets in line with their NDIS plan and the capacity to be creative and co-ordinate specific programs/projects as required.
  • Good referral and report writing skills.

Casual Disability Support Workers

Interchange Outer East regularly advertises employment opportunities for casual support workers to work with children and young adults with disabilities on a 1:1 basis, or within group programs. If you are passionate about working with people and a firm belief in equality for all, we would love you to work with us.
