Mel is a parent of three children, all diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. All her family members are very active participants with the programs offered by IOE and attend the majority of services that are available.  

Mel has had a varied career in the public and private sector for over 20 years, working in both the UK and Australia. She is very passionate about advocating for what she sees as social inclusion and is a co-founder of the Different Journeys groups for ASD teens and adults which provide social connections for members.

Mel is now a full time carer and mother, focusing on learning new skills and attributes in the caring arena. She looks forward to a long and positive relationship as a board member of IOE.
