Weekend For Woolies

It was freezing cold but an amazing winter weekend was had by all when Youth Group and Adult Rec held a combined weekend at Camp Howqua just outside of Mansfield.

On Saturday some of the group opted to explore Sheepyard Flats and around Lake Eildon in the 4WDs.  The rest of us rugged up and headed off  for a day of fun in the snow at Mount Stirling where there was plenty of snow for tobogganing and for building snowmen. It’s a lot harder than it looks …  and where do you get the carrot for the nose!!

Back at Camp Howqua, the adventurous day was topped off by everyone getting together and performing their own version of ‘The Voice’ –  some stella performances, celebrity appearances and loads of fun! We celebrated Andre’s 16th Birthday and finished off the evening watching movies and nice and warm.

Before making the trek back to IOE on Sunday we explored the campsite, taking in the stunning views, the massive (and I mean massive!) kangaroos and had loads of fun wobbling on the swing bridge. We stopped off to warm our bellies in Yea for lunch before heading back to have bubble fights while we washed the mud off our buses.  All returned home happy and exhausted!
