Interchange is gearing up for a special event at the end of the year – the bi-ennial arrival of our visitors from Milan. There is lots of planning on the go, to ensure the next MelMi exchange will be a memorable time for all. Now in its 6th year the MelMi (Melbourne-Milan) project which partners Athla Onlus,a Milan based  disability service, and IOE,  has been a valuable cultural experience for the participants, staff, volunteers and families who have been involved.

This year the group of young people from Milan have requested an IOE camping experience – who else could do it better but IOE! With that in mind we are planning to hold our second family camp to coincide with their visit during the Christmas/New Year break. The camp will be held at The Summit in Trafalgar – a site we have used for camps during this past year – from Thursday December 31 – Sunday January 3. It is sure to be a fun event and already is fully booked with families wanting to share their New Year with our visitors and other IOE families.

The group will be staying in Melbourne CBD prior to the camp at Trafalgar and will then be heading off to Wilson’s Prom for the remainder of their stay. As well as providing lots of action and activities, there will be plenty of occasions for them to experience Aussie hospitality from the IOE community.

If you would like more information about MelMi or would like to contribute to making their stay a memorable one, please contact Kimberley at IOE – 9758 5522 or
