Transition Time For School Leavers

November 19, 2014

It’s an exciting time of year, with Christmas only a blink of an eye away, and some school leavers beginning to transition from the school setting to post school options. One such young man is Bahha Saab, who is demonstrating he is particularly keen to begin this next stage of his life.

To ensure Bahha is prepared for all that’s involved within IOE’s Adult Options Service, he has started engaging in some of the activities that he may be encountering next year. Bahha has begun mowing the lawns for Interchange at Yose Street and the adjoining Enterprises site during some of his shifts after school. Bahha will also be using the Community site in Ferntree Gully to practice his cooking skills … so look out Master Chef!
He will be visiting these two sites with a teacher from his school in late November where he can continue to check out what we do at Balanced Post School Options sites during the day.

We anticipate that Bahha will attend both the Enterprises and Community sites in 2015, a mix which will offer him a good mix of activities/experiences. By becoming familiar this year with the people and practices at these locations, he is certain to feel very secure and comfortable when he begins programs next year.

Bahha is looking forward to joining the fun and working hard next year at Balanced Post School Options  and we look forward to seeing him along with lots of new faces.
