Thanks For Another Great Year

As we celebrate the start of 2013, Interchange Outer East would like to extend a big thank you to everyone involved in making 2012 another successful year.

Interchange Outer East is proudly a ‘people focused’ organisation and simply wouldn’t be able to achieve the things it does without the continued involvement of its supporters, volunteers and families. It is the people who make IOE such a positive and valued part of the community … and a community in itself.

For this reason, IOE would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to make 2012 another successful year in IOE’s proud history. Whether you have donated your time, expertise, money, goods or just your winning smile, you have made a difference this year to the lives of children and young adults with a disability. You have helped families get some much deserved respite, you have given new experiences to kids in your community, you have helped them realise their dreams and how to achieve them, and you have provided laughter, fun and friendships.

Amongst the highlights in 2012 were two overseas trips, the IOE ‘Keeping it Real’ Conference 2012, hosting an Italian exchange group as part of the Melbourne and Milan (MelMi) project, the continuing relationship with Freemasons Victoria, who generously support the IOE Siblings Program, and, of course, the IOE birthday celebration, 30 years in the making!

In 2012, Interchange Outer East signed up seventeen new families, 85 new volunteers, 64 new support workers and 11 new host families. The various IOE programs facilitated nearly 100 camps and countless day activities, supporting over  800 families.

As a non-profit agency, IOE recognises that this kind of support would not be possible without the people who donate their time, their homes and their energy. So to you and to your families, IOE says ‘THANK YOU!‘ and hopes you had a safe and happy festive season. May 2013 be filled with the same ‘can do’ attitude, enthusiasm and compassion that keeps us going year after year.
