The community spirit is strong here at Interchange Outer East with a number of Interchangers getting involved in supporting worthy causes.

On Sunday 24th March, ‘Team Max’ will be getting in a bit of early morning exercise by walking and running in the Royal Children’s Hospital ‘Run For The Kids’ event which raises awareness and funds for RCH. A number of IOE staff and families have decided to take part in this year’s run in appreciation of all the support and care that Max, Belinda James’ little boy, has received over this past year. Max has been in and out of RCH for a number of operations and procedures but thankfully is now home and doing well.  There may be a few staff with sore leg muscles the following Monday!

Jaren Hare’s pride and joy is his long hair but he has decided to shave it all off in this year’s World’s Greatest Shave which raises funds for blood cancer research.  You can add your support to Jaren (and the cause) and make his hair sacrifice a bit easier by clicking on the link and donating some funds.    http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/Jarenhare?SID=204124&LangPref=en-CA  We also have a donation box at IOE reception.
Here’s a before photo of the hairy Jaren. His mum, Kerri, will be sharing his post shave photo with us. Go Jaren.

At IOE we are advertising events which will support a couple of families to get much needed equipment and home renovations. You’ve probably read past blogs about Zac Kohinga and Project Zachariah, which is raising funds to help make the family home ‘Zacable’. There is another Zac fundraiser on Saturday 23rd March and IOE has raffle tickets for sale at reception. Contact projectzachariah@live.com.au or phone Olivia 0417537200 or Lisa 0418404821 for more information

Riley’s family is in need of a modified vehicle to accommodate his wheelchair. A fundraiser had been planned for Friday 10th May, The following link will take you to the event details – please share it and invite your friends!  http://www.facebook.com/events/160592820759335/?ref=14    For more information download the flyer or Contact Bec Casey  0438 444 bec.casey@ioe.org.au
