Sun and Salsa

What a fun and relaxing day we had at the Cuban Jazz festival last Saturday. Held ‘on the green’ at the beautiful Rochford Estate in the Yarra Valley we couldn’t had asked for more perfect weather – the hat sellers did a roaring trade – or a more relaxed, sociable and lovely group of ladies!

We arrived nice and early and spread out our blankets and chairs under a shady tree where we could listen in comfort to the Cuban beats on the main stage. What is a Cuban Festival without dance, so dance we did. We were introduced to some salsa moves and grooves under the instruction of different dance instructors – why is it latin men have such big egos? Samantha and I had some difficulty doing the ‘Hola’ move , something to do with our female anatomy! But it was great fun.

A few ladies made their wine drinking easy by purchasing some innovative non spill picnic wine glasses – one even bought a carton of them, supposedly to give as presents. The sun continued to shine, the wine and cider continued to flow, the music kept on and, as the day drew to a close, a massage team wandered around dispensing some healing vibes, in exchange for some money, to those who needed to relieve the stress of the tiring ??!!! day.

Great day all round. Looking forward to our Mums weekend in November.
