Summer Holiday Happenings

The January school holidays have come and gone. We were extremely fortunate with the weather not being too hot. We had four camps of five days and a three day camp, with camps being mainly located near the beach to take advantage of the summer weather. We also ran five day activities, ranging from going to Sorrento to see an Animalicious performed at the Spiegel Kids tent to watching a Big Bash T20 cricket match at Etihad stadium. So lots of different things to do.

On the three day camp at Grantville Lodge in Westernport we had six kids experiencing their first ever school holiday camp with Interchange. A shorter camp is a great way for younger kids who haven’t been away before to have their first camp experience, without being away from home and family for too long..

The children who attended Camp Curumbene had a ball when they went to Inflatable World in Shepparton. The place was a hit with the kids with sliding and climbing and bouncing the aim of the day and of course a loads of fun.

Over the three weeks that we ran School Holiday Program we were able to provide Interchange Outer East families with a whopping 6158 hours of respite – that’s also 6158 hours of fun for the kids!

Thanks to all our fantastic volunteers, we couldn’t run such a successful holiday program without you.
