The Interchange Outer East car park was a hive of activity almost every day of the recent school holidays! We delighted in seeing the children and young people smiling and ready to head off on a day activity or a camp in the wonderful Spring sunshine! The atmosphere and sense of community around IOE, particularly during these holiday times, is really something!

IOE ran 5 day activities and 2 camps over the break and here are a couple of snippets of just two of the activities enjoyed by the children (and volunteers and staff).

September means Melbourne Show time – always a popular holiday program activity. The sun shone on a day when hail was forecast, so it was a fun filled day full of show bags, scary rides, fairy floss, animals, motor cross plus so much more.  Jake insisted on going on the scariest ride possible taking staff member Amy along for the ride. Her face says it all (see photo below)! It was a fabulous day! – Kimberley Hannett

We had  lovely sunny weather for our school holiday program day at Gumbuya Park.  The rides were the highlight for most of our participants  – racing around the mini car track, rushing through the toboggan course, and zooming in the twister karts.  When these guys get their licences we better watch out – we’ll have some speed demons on our hands.  We also enjoyed visiting the koalas, kangaroos, and dingoes. – Karen Munzel
