New Look Bayswater Festival

This year’s Bayswater Community Arts Festival will be held on Saturday 10th October 2015 at the new venue of the Knox Community Arts Centre (cnr Scoresby Rd & Mountain Hwy, Bayswater) from 10am – 2pm. After battling weather conditions in the Bayswater shopping precinct for the last few years, it was decided to move to a more user (and weather) friendly venue.

The Festival was originally set up as a street party for the Bayswater community as part of ‘Social Inclusion Week’ but this year it has morphed into a more arty crafty event – still a fun day with loads of activities, stalls and entertainment for all the family. An added bonus is that the Bayswater CFA (situated next door to the KCAC) has agreed to be a Festival partner and will be holding their ‘Open Day’ in conjunction with the Festival, so they will have all their equipment, children’s activities and volunteer ‘Fireies’ on hand.

Come along and meet Bendigo Bank’s Piggy mascot, ERL’s Rusty Arnold, plus local pollies from both sides. There will be lots of stalls, art and crafts, an abundance of activities, mobile library and storytelling, balloon twister, magician, face painting and school art exhibition. Plenty of food too, with a Rotary BBQ and a free café … plus more.

This is a free event but gold coin donations will be accepted on behalf of the CFA.

The Festival is supported by the Bayswater Bendigo Bank through the Boronia and Ringwood Community Grants Fund (see pic) and  Knox City Council’s Community Development Grants and is run under the auspice of Interchange Outer East – one of the original Street Party stakeholders.
