Mums Group Blues Cruise

Cruising the bay in balmy weather, fabulous blues music and good company – what a perfect way to finish off our Mums program for 2016. Eighteen ladies, including three first timers, plus Bec and myself as staff, spent a very pleasant three and  a half hours chatting and listening to grooves of Blue Eyes Cry and John Macnamara on board the Lady Cutler showboat last Sunday evening.

A dedicated group of dancers didn’t leave the dance floor all evening – congrats to Diane B for winning the ‘dancer with the best moves’ prize!  We even made the Lady Cutlers facebook page  When not on the dance floor we sat around on the outside decks, having a drink, listening to the music and watching the lights of Melbourne’s skyline pass by – very relaxing and probably something lots of ladies may not often get the chance to do.

Frances G commented “… the best activity I have been on so far – so relaxing, very sociable and I loved having the chance to dance.”

One lesson from the night: Katherine C is a very handy lady to have around. Who else has a shoe repair kit in their handbag just in case their sandals fall apart!

Thank you ladies for making our outings this year such fun and for being such a welcoming and friendly group. A special welcome to all our newest members. We hope to see you all, plus more, on our outings in 2017.
