The Supernaturals are back after our successful Neon Lights road trip in December. Spirits were certainly high over the four days travelling to Swan Hill, Mildura and Horsham. T-shirts and CDs were on sale. There were girls, late nights and a lot of driving. The rock n’ roll experience was alive and exciting.
Only a special kind of person could have assisted us on this trip. Second to none was Tracey Appleby who remained high spirited throughout the trip creating undoubtedly the best time of our lives.
We rocked up in Mildura to the calm before a storm- grey sky and threatening to pour. The Supernaturals and a couple of locals hit the streets with flyers to promote the gig and get those few extra people along. For me it was setup and sound checks, making sure it would be go at show time.
Around 9pm we hit the stage and despite being nervous, played well and were well received. Jackson was tight on drums, Anthony and Pat worked well together and Pendlebury was doing well after his dance coaching from our front man David Manago who really took his stage presence to another level by climbing the big “fridge” speakers and jumping off onto the dance floor. It was very cool. The Quickfix played well and local radio station Star FM played the second half of their set. The DJ took over after our sets and we kicked on and danced all night. It was just an awesome fun night.
Next stop Horsham where we did it all again, this time with Silverstakes joining us. The Supernaturals really warmed up the crowd at this place. Here again we sold a few shirts, found a few girls to dance with, played pool and had a few drinks – it was great to be playing in a true pub atmosphere where Rock music belongs. Silverstakes were very impressive with Scott Alexander showing what a great vocal talent he has become and Adrian Duke playing as a great guitarist should. Jackson supported their Horsham gig with a solid performance on tambourine.
Check out all the bands on their myspace sites.
