End of Year Fun

My partner and I took two of our grandchildren to the Interchange 'End of Year Extravaganza' last Saturday and had a really enjoyable afternoon.

After the past few years of very low key Christmas gatherings, this year Interchange decided to come back to a full on end of year get together, complete with activities, games and food plus a disco to finish the day. There was a really good turnout of families, staff and volunteers who made serious work of enjoying themselves on the flying fox, giant swing, trampoline and other activities at the Mount Morton Lodge campsite in Belgrave Heights. I heard lots of comments from people about how good a venue it was as there was so much for the kids to do.parachute games

With cakes and watermelon for afternoon tea and snags, hamburgers and salad for dinner we had plenty of food to keep the energy levels up. Santa gave his sled a miss and arrived on the back of a CFA fire truck, much to the delight of the children who crowded round to get their lolly bag presents. My grandkids held on very tightly to their bags for the rest of the day – Nanna wasn’t even allowed to mind them while they jumped on the trampoline!

The day finished off with an evening disco with our regular IOE disco DJ, Greg Bakker, pumping out the music for the dancers.

It was a lovely way to finish of the year and to catch up with people. Julie, Fred, Belinda, Scott and Liz did a great job of organising and running the day. Well done.
