The Supernaturals band again journeyed west to the Wimmera Region to attend the Awakening Festival in Horsham.
In its fourth year of attendance at the festival, the band is now well known for requests to be taken for us to perform our anthem ‘Kill Plucka Duck’. The band played on the Thursday afternoon and again at night where they were headlining. Unfortunately the Saturday street festival where they were to perform during the morning was cancelled but that gave everyone the opportunity to do some other fun things such as a bit of hiking at the Grampians, hitting up the swimming pool and enjoying a free session at the movies where the guys watched ‘the Three Musketeers’.
None of these experiences compared to the fun the boys had at the main events. These guys love hitting the social scene, so attending the ‘Claymore’ gig at the Victoria Hotel on the Friday night and the Awakenings Ball on the Saturday night were the highlights of the festival entertainment for them. There was lots of dancing - a favourite activity and a chance to really strut their stuff.
The trip can again be considered a massive success as we played well, made some lasting connections and had a lot of fun in a truly rewarding experience.
The crew attending this year’s Awakenings Festival was - Jackson Glenn, Anthony Lombardo, David Manago, Paul Hocking, Thomas Allen supported by Sam Howard and myself, Graham Bergroth. Well done guys on another fantastic trip.
