15th November saw me, Rachael, Adele, Linda, Nicolie and Nicole on a boat in the middle of Port Phillip Bay in search of dolphins with Polperro Dolphin Swims.

We were taking part in a girls’ week away at Dromana as part of a Balance program.

The boat took us first to China Man’s Hat in the bay, where we got to swim with the very playful seals and the girls mastered their snorkeling skills. We then cruised around the bay looking for dolphins. While we were cruising we sunned ourselves on the deck, ate treats provided by the crew, and sat on the boat’s snorkel platform for the ride of our lives.

Finally we snorkeled around a small shallow reef in the bay. The staff brought up treasures from the sea floor for us to hold while they told us all about them – very interesting.
Turns out we were human fish (or so they reckoned). The Polperro boat staff were outstanding and we left feeling like we had made some new friends.

We didn’t get to see any dolphins, but we’re looking on the bright side, as it gives us an excuse to do it all again!
