Dear Rebecca
The idea of writing an Operational Plan for an organisation as part of our Holmesglen Events and Management Diploma was at first quite daunting.

However, you soon put us at ease and provided the resource material, support and guidance to complete the task. We were impressed on our first day to be taken on a familiarisation tour of Interchange Outer East, introduced to staff, given a personalised OH&S safety induction, and invited to attend a committee meeting for Conference planning.  It made us quickly feel very welcome.  

 
We appreciated the time that you and Fred gave us over the weeks to answer questions and fill us in on the details of various IOE events. We saw how important events are to IOE, and were impressed by your commitment to produce high quality programs that enhance the agency and provide services for its members. We learned a lot from your directive to write a manual that would assist event planners to ‘consider’ aspects of an event, rather than providing checklists and telling them how to do things.   We came to see how this approach encourages creativity and brings out the best in people.   

Thank you for the opportunity to work with you at Interchange Outer East.  It became a very practical way to consolidate our learning. We wish you well in your future events and hope that our manual will provide helpful considerations to enhance them.
