“Back to back to back the premier soccer team obliterates the opposition again.”
The D-Team again took on the best that Interchange could throw up to win the sports tournament again! We did have a couple to tightish matches but remain undefeated in three years of competition. Even coming up against the self proclaimed “greatest athletes IOE has seen” in the final didn’t daunt us one bit.

“Good fisherpeople catch fish – it’s that simple”
Beautiful day to be on a boat fishing on Westernport Bay. All was perfect as 12 fisher hopefuls set out to catch their dinner. Great excitement every time a fish was hauled in – lots of photos, handshakes, backslapping, high fives. I like fishing and have done a bit... but I was one of the few to go hungry.
“A game for animals played by gentlemen”
Wednesday it was time for rugby to be tried and tested. We dodged, weaved, passed, kicked, scrummed and mauled our way through the morning trying out the skills of rugby. The scrum was one of the funniest things I have seen – but there often seems no rhyme or reason about scrums anyway. We finished with a bit of a 2 verses 22 game.
'Running for fun'
My favourite week of the year was topped off by the fun run. Sport is important to me as a way to shrug off the cobwebs and reconnect with my inner child. The fun run provides that in spades. From watching the self proclaimed “greatest athlete IOE has ever seen” run two laps of the course before most people could complete one lap, to running a couple of games where strategy, cunning, guile tend to take second place to cheating. Topped off by a football match where the competition was fierce and the defensive pressure akin to the Saints at their best. Looking forward to next year!
