Standing in front of the assembled masses of Interchange I was prepared to dazzle and excite them. I had done the preparation, my talk had a good flight plan -
great start, impressive middle and a great rounding up - and then it just all went to mush. What am I doing? – where am I going? – what am I saying?... nothing to do but keep going. Luckily I got through the hour with the key themes – PASSION & PURPOSE - being bludgeoned into the consciousness of those present rather than being more subtly presented as intended. Back to Public Speaking 101 for me!
The Interchange Conference was for me a great two days of sharing, listening to interesting speakers and being a part of a committed group of people. I was extremely appreciative to see it come together so well reflecting the hours and hours of work done by presenters and organisers. For those attending it was great to witness the interest and engagement in all sessions. The spirit of “no man is an island” lives on. It is the opportunity to interact, share and reflect with others that drives success.
