On Saturday April 17, as part of Youth Week, Community Balance held the first, of what we hope will be many successful Youth Arts Festivals in our local community in Station St, Ferntree Gully.
Large tarps full of art work from local youth were hung around the street, and at Community Balance we had a bunch of canvasses to paint on - which we’ll be displaying in the front room of our shop very soon!  Drop by and have a look.

Local community artist, Emma, come down to help out, sharing her ideas and talents with us. If you pass our shop front you’ll see a large face that she has lent us! It’s actually a chalk board and was a real hit on the day- it was the main drawcard for people walking by. Everyone had a go at decorating it before moving inside.  It looks quite brilliant in our window!

As well as our art loving Balance guys, we had a few people come in off the street to join in the festivities. It was a great opportunity to welcome people in to our space to show them what we do. I especially enjoyed seeing  people who had never even met before but who share a love for art, gather and make something great while having a good time together!

Hopefully each year will bring a bigger crowd as it was a very successful and fun day!
