ISP Family Forum

We have had lots of requests from families here at Interchange asking how they can be more creative with using their funding.

They want information and guidance on what services and items can be covered by the funding, how they can extend or create opportunities for their child or young adult and how they can make best use of the money. So, we have decided to hold a forum where families can come along, ask questions, hopefully get some answers and share experiences.

We hope families will leave this forum equipped with greater knowledge to empower them to make decisions around the best use of their funding package.  Topics to be covered on the night include: NDIS and its impact on families and the future of the disability industry; creative use of funding to increase social and leisure opportunities; a person centred approach to using funding; open forum for families to discuss what they want and how this can be achieved. The most powerful tool we can offer our families is education .. and families sharing their experiences and knowledge with other families is probably one of the best ways educating people about what is possible.

The forum is open to all families at Interchange no matter what service they use – 1:1 or group based programs and services. It will be held on Monday June 3rd (7:30-9:30pm) in the training room at Yose Street, Ferntree Gully.  We hope it will be the start of a magnificent journey for the future of IOE!
