It was with great excitement that we headed off for our three day adventure down to the Mornington Peninsula. Accommodation was booked for Amore Eva in Rye an as we couldn’t get access until after 2pm we planned for a day exploring the coast at Queenscliff. We drove the bus onto the ferry at Sorrento and once our van was safely parked we wandered up to the top lounge to enjoy the trip across to Queenscliff. After disembarking we drove to Ocean Grove for lunch then backtracked to Point Lonsdale for a walk along the board walk and an exploration of the light house. We were fortunate to have a brilliant sunny day.

Arriving at our accommodation late afternoon there were shouts of delight when the guys realized there was ‘Foxtel’ which they took advantage of that evening after dinner, grooving out to the music channels.

Alarms were set for the next morning as we took the early morning booking at Peninsula Hot Springs and planned to be there by 8:30am! Everyone really enjoyed all the different bathing experiences including the cave pool, Turkish steam bath, and the hilltop pool that had stunning 360 degree views of the region. Several hours later we returned to the house for a quick change before heading off to Mornington for our reservation at ‘High Tea in Paris’.

Well, the guys gave it a name change and called it ‘High Tea in Paradise’ and I had to agree. The decor and the selection of food that was provided was a feast for sore eyes. Ribbon sandwiches, warm savouries, scones with jam and cream, and a selection of cakes. In spite of all our big appetites we couldn’t eat everything so they boxed up the left overs for us to enjoy later on in the evening after dinner.

Next morning we took the coastal drive down to Frankston where we checked out the resident seals sunning themselves under the pier before we battled the wind and took a walk down the pier and along the beach front. We lunched at La Porchettas right on the beach front – much enjoyed by all. So with full stomachs and nice and content we boarded the bus for the drive back to Yose Street.

A busy, fun, great couple of days and we all agreed, we want to do it again!!
