Last call for registrations for the ‘Making It Happen’ 2014 IOE Conference which will be held on Tuesday October 7.

Everyone – IOE families, employees, volunteers, interested people from the community or other services – is invited to this FREE event will be held at The Burrinja Cultural Centre in Glenfern Rd, Upwey from 8.45am (registration) to 5pm.

A program of excellent speakers will be presenting on a range of interesting topics, where they have ‘Made It Happen’: Jonathon Welch (Choir of Hard Knocks/Choir of Hope and Inspiration): Jacquie Pierce from Karingal in Barwon who will be talking about the NDIS from a 1st hand perspective; Sally Richards on her life as ‘Jackson’s Mum’; Anthony Kolmus (Disability Commissioner’s Office Working With Families Project); Georgina deBeaujeu and Cathy Handy on Social Traders and The Crunch project. The conference will finish with a session, by Dr Frank Muscara, research fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, on the topic of ‘mindfullness’.

Lunch, morning and afternoon tea are also provided. The Making It Happen conference has been made possible by a grant through the City of Knox Community Development Grants Scheme.
