Dads Do The Escape Room

Dads Group had a great night out last night at the Escape Room in Bourke street in the city. It was a lovely night. First stop the Elephant and Wheelbarrow for drinks before we made our way into the venue.

The scenario: “ You are locked in a maximum security prison and are awaiting your execution. You were framed by Dr. Malcolm on charges for the murder of your wife. There have been attempts to escape from this prison but every escape attempt has failed and most inmates were either killed or recaptured, while others disappeared without a trace, giving rise to a popular theory that their escape had been successful. You have forty five minutes to escape from the premises and set yourself free before the prison guards return. Your life and destiny are in your own hands.”

Well, we spent the first twenty minutes trying to work out the first clue, but to no avail. We stared blankly at a wall trying to decipher the epic code which stretched across the cell wall. We eventually hit the hint button and got our well needed clue, which inspired us to continue. We made good time with the next few clues, however we did spend 15 minutes trying to pick the prison door padlock  which we realised was completely unnecessary. The set of keys hanging on the hook outside the cell clearly wasn’t capturing our attention! We broke out to find  that we needed to crack another series of clues and jump through more hoops to be released from our impending lock in. We didn’t beat the clock but we certainly came close. For our efforts we were granted another 10 minutes to complete the mission. We managed to crack the escape room just in time for a well deserved pub meal and another drink back at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow. Definitely a different Dads Group outing!

Haven’t been on a Dads Group outing yet but have been thinking you’d like to come along and join in the fun?  Give me (Mark) a call on 9758 5522 and let me tell you all about what we do.
