Mark the date in your iPad/notebook/phone calendars or desk calendars and diaries if you are ‘old school’.  Tuesday October 7 is the date of the 2014 IOE Conference ‘Making It Happen’.

The one day conference will be held at The Burrinja Cultural Centre in Glenfern Rd, Upwey from 8.45am (registration) to 5pm and everyone is invited to come along – IOE families, employees, volunteers, any other interested people from the community.

Just some of the excellent speakers who will be presenting on a range of interesting topics, where they have ‘Made It Happen’ are: Jonathon Welch (Choir of Hard Knocks/Choir of Hope and Inspiration): Jacquie Pierce from Karingal in Barwon who will be talking about the NDIS from a 1st hand perspective; Sally Richards on her life as ‘Jackson’s Mum’; Anthony Kolmus (Disability Commissioner’s Office Working With Families Project) … plus more. The conference will finish with a session, by Dr Frank Muscara, research fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, on the topic of ‘mindfullness’.

Lunch, morning and afternoon tea are also provided. There is no charge to attend the conference, which has been made possible by a grant through the City of Knox Community Development Grants Scheme.

We hope you will join us so please register your interest by Friday September 12 by completing the online Coming Events form or by emailing ioe@ioe.org.au or calling 03 9758 5522  For more details download the Conference poster.
